Girl Guides and Girl Scouts celebrate 100 years of changing lives- 10 April 2010, the 100th day of the year, marks the first Centenary Celebration Day for international Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting. International centenary celebrations will focus on changing lives. An estimated 250 million lives have been changed so far through the Movement – through community action, advocacy and leadership development.

15th Central American Gathering celebrates the Centenary at Our Cabaña
- The 15th Central American Gathering of Guide Leaders took place from 14 to 18 January at Our Cabaña, one of the four World Centres of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. There were 45 participants from six Member Organizations from the Western Hemisphere region: Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico and Panama.
Entrepreneur is appointed Chair of the Global Girls’ Fund
- Entrepreneur and Secret Millionaire star Kavita Oberoi has been appointed as Chair of the Global Girls’ Fund Board. In addition, the UPS Foundation has donated US$2million to the Global Girls Fund and comes on board as a Global Founding Partner.

Be it climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, walking across the hilly landscapes of Scotland, cycling from London to Paris or setting out on a trek across the Sahara or Argentina.
Chilean Guides and Scouts support earthquake relief effort- The Guides and Scouts Association of Chile has been actively supporting relief efforts after the devastating earthquake that hit Chile on 27 February. Members and volunteers have been helping on a number of fronts, including clearing up, food distribution and first aid.
