Day 4

“The right to live in peace”

The final day began with a presentation from each of the delegations on their programme and training materials.  Participants shared experiences, learned from each other and grew in diversity.

In the afternoon, participants continued working on “building a better world” and ensuring the development of the region.  They worked together, recognized their differences and strengths and together drafted a Mission statement for the Latin-American sub-Regional programme and training group:

The Western Hemisphere programme and training group is responsible for developing the potential of leaders in Member Organizations to devise, deliver and update the Educational Programme

When the group Mission statement had been agreed, discussion focused on the values and vision of the group.  Using a sales pitch and a personal commitment, each person defended the values they had chosen.  They then discussed how these could be used together to be a source of inspiration and as a starting point for future work.

Finally, the Vision for the group was agreed which was based on the goals that will guide their work:

To be a constantly developing team that enables Member Organizations to reach and maintain quality in the areas of Programme and Training

The group than carried out a needs analysis for each participating Association in the areas of Programme and Training.  As a result, actions were identified as part of a future Work Plan.

Evaluation and farewell

The day’s activities were brought to a close with an evaluation session done by the participants themselves, evaluating their experiences throughout the duration of the workshop.

The closing ceremony was held at night and was inspired by Pegasus, the stellar constellation that is said to make new life spring wherever it leaves its mark.
