Day 3

Participants explored different methods they could use to plan and implement their programme.

The development of a model unit meeting (for older Guides or Rangers) allowed the patrols to put into practice all that they have learned throughout the workshop. It was evident as the patrols presented their work that they have gained a greater understanding of the Educational Programme and how it can be used to improve their programmes.

Understanding training and learning about training schemes throughout the Caribbean gave the patrols an opportunity to see how the Educational Programme fit into training. The task of developing training modules was challenging for several of the patrols but participants were able to generate some good conversations and successfully complete the task.

The Rosebuds patrol shared how they think their greater understanding of the Educational Programme could be incorporated into their model unit meetings and training modules:

It gave us a better understanding of how to plan our unit meeting using different training methods, to plan and execute programme.
Putting the module step by step helped us to get a better understanding of how to use the educational programme as a tool to help the guiders and girls to realize their full potential.
