The Western Hemisphere Advisory Committee was formed in 1940 when Europe was at war and the World Committee was unable to meet. Its status as a Sub-Committee of the World Committee was confirmed at the World Conference held in New York, USA, in 1948.
The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts’ Western Hemisphere Region is a very diverse Region.
It comprises 36 Member Organizations (MOs) stretching from Canada and North America through the Caribbean, Central and South America.
Our vision is to work in peace and harmony for the advancement of girls and young women in our Borderless Region
