Traduction à suivre
On the second day of the meeting, there was an organized session presented by Gisela Lammerts van Bueren, ex oficio member of the Western Hemisphere Committee. She discussed the topic of multiple intelligences and their relationship to and inclusion within the Girl Guiding programme.
Participants learned about the eight emotional types of intelligence, namely:
- Interpersonal intelligence
- Intrapersonal intelligence
- Coenaesthesia
- Spatial-visual intelligence
- Logical-mathematical intelligence
- Verbal-linguistic intelligence
- Musical intelligence
- Naturalistic intelligence
Gisela also invited girls to develop the types of intelligence they do not master, by using the Scout Method “Learn by Doing,” in order to achieve their maximum potential.
During this second day a session on Democracy and Citizen Participation took place, where participants were shown how to analyse the reality in our communities and countries aimed at preparing advocacy or promotion campaigns based on WAGGGS’ seven key messages.
Following, each delegation selected one of the seven messages proposed by WAGGGS and made an analysis of the legislation in their countries with regard to this subject. Based on this, they prepared an advocacy and promotion campaign to submit to their Member Organizations. The objective is to become the voice of girls and young women in their communities, thus contributing to the achievement of WAGGGS’ goal 3.
